Happy Mother's Day to all.

Wow, what a busy 2 weeks and still lots happening. Adding a few pictures of everything going on. The banquet was last Thursday, for BUSINESS OF THE YEAR. Dennis and I are so blessed. We could not have succeeded in our business without GOD, our AWESOME TALENTED STAFF, customers and friends. Mother's Day was a record breaker and now working on a wedding. Our Summer Kick Off  is next Friday, May 23rd. We will be having a LifeShare Blood Drive from 1:00p.m. - 5:00 p.m. with every person that DONATES RED will be presented with a RED ROSE.  Register for Door Prizes and refreshments will be served. And yes, 20% off all clothing and accessories.

2014 Business of the Year

The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award will be presented to Ruston Florist and Boutique, owned by Dennis and Debbie Allen.

Ruston Florist and Boutique, a family owned and operated business, has been serving the Ruston area for over 32 years.  The business was recently relocated, now having a 5,000 square foot showroom, featuring women's clothing and accessories, exquisite home decor, bath & body products, A Baby Boutique and introducing Michael Marcus Cosmetics.  With beautiful flowers, plants and their outstanding customer service, it's what keeps customers coming back time and time again. 

Not only has Debbie and her staff won awards and been featured in magazines such as Southern Living, Flowers&, and Florists' Review, they love what they do! When you step to the front door of the shop at 1103 Farmerville Highway you will see the Monday - Saturday store times listed as Hours of Enjoyment. It's safe to say that whether you drop in for a quick pick-up during lunch, or go to spend hours browsing, you'll leave with a smile.

Dennis and Debbie employ three full-time and four part-time staff members. Since the move, the florist has experienced a 130% sales increase. Among the community projects they have already scheduled for 2014; a blood drive at the shop, helping Leadership Lincoln "Can Child Hunger" for the summer, and the week of July 21 they will take flower arrangements to distribute to the residents at Russ House (retirement home) for "Make Someone Smile® Week.

The Business of the Year award will be presented on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Squire Creek Country Club during the LA Tech Hall of Fame and Chamber Business of the Year Awards Dinner. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and is sponsored by Community Trust Bank and Hunt, Guillot & Associates.

This awards dinner is co-hosted by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and LA Tech College of Business and is a new event that takes the place of the Business Breakfast from years past. Also being honored that evening are the College of Business Hall of Fame inductees, James E. Davison and Glen F. Post.

Anna and I, brought some new things from the shop, including pillows, artwork, plants, towels and bed linens to show everyone. Yes, I know, It's February, however, March winds are fast approaching. And daffodils, rabbits, butterflies, Easter Eggs and I LOVE SPRING! But first, I have to let you see more pictures of my great staff, during Valentine's Day.

Valentine Ice?

Well, another busy day, however, began sleeting rain and a little snow mixed in, however, didn't start till about 4:30p.m. Now wait and see for when all the girls can come in. But the great news is, that perfect weather for Thursday 13th and Friday the 14th for Valentine deliveries.

I cannot express how blessed we are for having such a great group of funny, talented girls working for us. Things are running smoothly. Another shipment, well make that 3 shipments of flowers arrived today. Then it's a mad rush of trying to find more 5 gallon buckets to process the flowers. Then UPS or Fed Ex stops by, because, did I mentioned, Dennis and I have been to Home Markets, Apparel Markets and Furniture Markets within the last 3 weeks. So, the girls love it when we get new boxes in.

Valentine Week 2014

It's time to think about Valentine. We have actually have been preparing for this week for a couple of months now. In fact, I had to order most of my flowers in January. Now let the games begin.
